URGENT:If Uu wanna add some baking powder u can.But add 1/3 or 1/4 tbsp because i added 1 tbsp and when it was in the microwave it flowed outta the mug.The results were yummy but i had to stop the microwave and put some in another cup. It was fluffy and CHOCOLATEY!!!! Anyways, HAPPY BAKING!

Thanks! It tastes GOOD

CiccioItalianCafe November 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

far to long about 20 minutes @ 180C , would only make about 3 cupcakes but you could quadruple it or more, but comes out of the microwave perfectly, if you want to have an oven cake try the amazing orange cake it’s really good

Musicalmattyman November 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

How long would it take to cook in an oven

CiccioItalianCafe November 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

I would be looking at about 1/2tsp if it needs more report back to use, I only ever use self raising

Aerobee151 November 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

CiccioItalianCafe November 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

yes but you’ll need to add a little baking powder otherwise it won’t rise

jonabel12 November 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

CiccioItalianCafe November 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

How is it I would think a little drier and not so chocolately?

vachon644 November 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

Did it this way :
5 tbsp Sugar
3 tbsp All purpose flour
1/2 tpsp Baking powder (chemical)
1/2 tbsp Cocoa
1 egg
3 tbsp Milk
3 tbsp vegetal oil

Eating it right now.

I have made without cocoa replace with self raising flour but added a little cinnamon or you could add a little zest but would be nice with jam dropped through when half cooked

Razberry52 November 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

Would it be a plain cake without cocoa or will it taste weird? i wanna make a plain one, cut it in half and put jam and cream in the middle but i dont wanna waste. Anyone tryed it?

CiccioItalianCafe November 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

should work I have made a couple of times differently you can take out the Cocoa but will need to be replaced with self raising flour to the equilant size, really nice if you poured over sometime like you curd(I sometimes put tinned fruit like peaches under my take out cocoa and add a little cinnamon…let us know how you get on

CiccioItalianCafe November 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

probably although won’t be as chocolately

AztekPB123 November 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

Have nothing in the house and starving, am about to make this with what limited resources I have.

I have lemon juice / rind / curd and suger-alernative. Any chance it’d work with those instead of cocoa / caster sugar?

CiccioItalianCafe November 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

if you take out the cocoa replace with self raising flour then add cinnamon works well over drained canned peaches

9ecrofatled November 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

thanks! i just made this, and my mum was amazed…. so simple and fast… i used a little less oil though… gonna try other flavours like coffee or cinammon next time.. 5 stars for ya!

TweetyRox13 November 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

i made this and my 7 year old brother freaked out because he thought it was going to explode because it was rising

CiccioItalianCafe November 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

I’ve cooked this in a 900W so try cooking it at about 60% for 2 minutes then check it maybe anoth 30secs after that, sometimes it’s trial and error to find what is best in different microwaves

TheFanOfCrypto138 November 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

I have a 1800W microwave, what should i cook it at!?

I’m a big fan of the microwave mug cake recipe, too. In fact, I’m also the author of “101 Recipes for Microwave Mug Cakes” that builds on this recipe (but, hopefully, adds some ideas and baking tips for those who love microwave mug cakes as much as I do). Check it out at http://www.microwavemugcakes.com.
